Hmong Culture and Language Program
Summer 2009

“Light Shining in the Darkness Butterfly Wall”This community art piece was facilitated by painter and Community Artist, Seexeng Lee, during the 2009 Hmong Culture and Language Program summer camp experience at Concordia University.  Seexeng , Cate Vermeland, and Jim and Sally Baas collaborated on renovating  the wall and creating the butterflies while the campers created the designs and, the “clan Leaders” (the youth leaders) painted the butterflies .  The project culminated from the “Life of a Butterfly” theme this summer focused on helping students recognize their potential and possibilities.  Sara Mulso, the CSP facilities department, and President Holst all helped to make this project possible, as well.
